NEW THIS YEAR, the Walk for INDEPENDENCE will launch a 5K running option and are introducing The Blindfold Challenge! With a virtual walk or run, you can pick your own route, who you participate with, and what time you start, all while fundraising to support The Carroll Center. The whole month of April, we encourage you to participate virtually and send us a photo of you supporting the walk. Then, on Sunday, April 25, 2021, all participants will come together to virtually celebrate the effort made to support our mission. Sponsor the event today, create a team, and help spread the word. You pick the pace, choose your race, and participate from your favorite place. Join us to make a difference, one step at a time!

5K and Walk for INDEPENDENCE Signage

We have designed signage to distribute to all 5K and Walk for INDEPENDENCE participants and supporters, the #BeINDEPENDENT21 sign and the "Why I walk". We ask that you all print a copy of the signs, fill out why you are participating in this year's event, and take a photo of yourself holding it either individually or with your team. (Choose to take a photo with the signs at home or while on a walk or run around your neighborhood. The goal is to show your virtual participation and support the Walk and of The Carroll Center for the Blind.) Email us your photo at development@carroll.org or post the picture on social media (be sure to tag @CarrollCenter and use the hashtag #BeINDEPENDENT21).
