Dear Family and Friends:
As you all know, I work at The Carroll Center for the Blind and I have a personal passion for their mission. I see the results of their work daily. It’s impactful!
I’m writing because I need your help. The Carroll Center is hosting its 7th Annual Walk for INDEPENDENCE – our signature event of the year - and I want to build a team to help raise money for them. The Walk will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. I will be there with my walking sneakers on!!
We are excited to have Ted Reinstein as our Event Emcee, WCVB Channel 5’s Chronicle Anchor, as our Television Media Sponsor. Also, Dave McGillivray, Race Director for the Boston Marathon, is coordinating our event again this year.
It is a great day with a one-mile and three mile walk around the neighborhood- with guide dogs and family pets, followed by a cookout and games, activities, and demonstrations. I have pledged to raise money as part of the walk, and I am asking if you would kindly make a donation to support me, or if you are interested, you can join my Team, Perry’s Pals; it’s really easy! Just head over to my Team page or you can send a personal check to me, here at the Carroll Center for the Blind, 770 Centre Street, Newton, MA 02458. Please be sure to indicate that you are donating to my team! Your donation is 100% tax-deductible, and it will help lots of blind and visually impaired people receive the training they need to be active and lead independent, fulfilling lives. For more information, you can check out our website at www.carroll.org.
Many thanks for your support. I'll keep you posted on my progress!
